Mr. Thomas Vuong
With 4 years of experience in career and college counseling in both high school and post-secondary environments, the Center aims to help Students prepare for their academic journey after high school and future careers. Mr. Vuong also brings over 16 years of experience in teaching academic and ESL English. With this comprehensive preparation, Students can:
– Know what they should know
– Understand what they should understand
– Achieve what they are capable of
The College & Career Counseling Center helps students answer three important questions:
– Who am I?
– What are my future goals?
– How can I achieve those goals?
As students delve deeper into the counseling program, they will be able to answer three more specific and practical questions:
– What choices do I have?
– What are the requirements of these choices?
– How can I meet these requirements?
Counseling methods include group sessions, individual counseling, and planning meetings with Students. These sessions help Students gather necessary information and learn how to use tools to establish and develop their post-secondary academic and career plans. Students will execute their outlined plans to achieve their goals after high school graduation, preparing for the next steps in exploring and planning their future careers while in college.
Depending on the Students’ grade levels, they will be scheduled to meet with counselors individually, in groups, or both. Students can also proactively schedule appointments for further support. Counseling sessions can take various forms, including informational seminars, specialized workshops, practical workshops, planning activities, and private discussions.
